After going deep into KG territory of the city, and taking down the sniper cannon defense grid, Jak and Daxter return to the Naughty Ottsel Tavern for a new mission. |
[Movie sequence begins] Torn is standing by the bar. He is so glad to have Jak back, helping them defend the city. He is worried that the KG and MetalHead armies may be somehow working together. He's sent scouts into the old sewer network but hasn't heard anything. They haven't come back! Torn needs Jak to go deep into the MetalHead controlled section and take down their defenses, so they can hook up with Freedom HQ. Another day at the office... Ho Hum... |
Grab a nearby zoomer out in the streets and fly towards the KG controlled section of the city. We're looking for an access door into the sewer network. It's not the same sewer tunnel network we used to come into the city from the Monk Temple Catacombs and the Eco Mines. Drive deep into the city center. You may remember your bearings from Jak 2? We're looking for a ground ramp leading to a basement level access door. |
Let the access door open and take the elevator down to the sewer network. When the door opens, we enter another huge underground chamber. Watch for KG Death Bots that fly up from below. Take them down with the Beam Reflexor. The only way we can go is to the right. Walk to the end of the metal catwalk. The pipe vents are blowing toxic gas. When the gas stops, Jak can safely cross. Watch the cycle of the gas to time your hops. Cross the 3 vents to the next catwalk. |
Let the access doors open. Keep your gun loaded. A KG Death Bot is waiting for you on the other side. Peg him where he stands. Work down the tunnel to the next open chamber. There are KG Death Bots standing guard all along the upper catwalk at the back of the waterfalls. Peg each one. Watch the pipe vents for toxic gas. Jump across the vents to the catwalk. Shoot out the fan in the water. It will blow you off the catwalk if you try to cross. Jump across the waterfalls. |
Before jumping across the next set of pipe vents, peek into the next access tunnel. There's another KG Death Bot waiting. Load the Beam Reflexor and shoot a few rounds into the left wall of the tunnel. The bullet ricochets should take him down. Now cross the pipe vents as the toxic gas stops. Down the access tunnel approach the next set of doors. As they open, more KG Death Bots fly in and start to attack. Load the Gyro Burster and fire a hover turret into the next corridor. The spray of bullets will vaporize anything closeby.
AMMO STRATEGY: A word of caution! The Gyro Burster eats up alot of ammo. It's not uncommon to use up 50-75 bullets firing just 1 hover gyro turret. Make sure you're in an emergency situation with too many enemies attacking you. Like now! |
Once everything's quiet, jump to the platform on the rails. The platform starts to move. Reload the Beam Reflexor (2nd notch). Jump over the blue plasma lasers as the metal grate platform passes underneath. Watch for more KG Death Bots that fly up from underneath. Take them down as they come. Hopefully the bullet ricochet will take down the 2 Bots standing on the far platform. Jump off to the walkway as the platform stops. Whack the nearby crates for health and ammo. |
Before going through the opened forcefield gate to the next sewer section, A LITTLE DIVERSION! Note the floor vent. Use Jak's jetboard and hover over the vent. The air from the vent will blow you up top to a hidden catwalk. Jump off the jetboard and walk into the hidden room. Lots of goodies including about 20 MetalHead Skull Gems and 3 Precursor Orbs. Once done, walk back out and jump down to the platform by the forcefield gate. |
Walk through the gate into the next section. Load the Gyro Burster. Several KG Death Bots fly up from below. I MEAN SEVERAL !! Fire a hover turret into the group. The spray of bullets is everywhere. MORE KG Death Bots fly up. Fire another hover turret into the crowd. Yikes, that's a firefight. There's a good probability you've depleted half your ammo after they're all gone. Notch up to the Beam Reflexor and work your way down the next walkway. Be careful. |
The area is dimly lit. KG Scorpion Bots jump to the walkway in swarms. There's a few of them. Peg them one at a time as you see the glow of their eyes. Watch your back. They sneak up from behind you. Hopefully the bullet ricochet will help you defend your position. Once all the Spider Bots are gone, the next forcefield gate will power-down giving you access to the next section. There are ammo crates near the wall. Make sure you find them and reload. Jump to the rail platform. |
The metal grate platform will move down the rails. Jump over the blue plasma lasers as the platform passes underenath. A new threat up ahead. A moving turret cannon. Dodge the cannon fire as the turret sweeps across from left to right and back left again. It's like a wave. As you get closer to the turret, the cannon fire gets trickier to dodge. Be patient. Anticipate the wave. Jump behind the turret and whack it with a power punch. So much for sophisticated KG security? |
A little diversion... Before going down into the room adjacent to the catwalk, jump on your jetboard and surf down to the sewer half-pipe. Around the corner, on the right, there's a ledge opening just above the sewer pipe. Surf up and down the half-pipe gaining momentum as you ride. Zoom half-way up the right wall at the corner. A metal platform will pop-out from the wall. Land on the platform. Grab the Skull Gems + health + ammo + Precusor Orbs inside the hidden room. |
Jetboard back up to the catwalk by the turret. Whack the ammo crates inside the doorway and load the Beam Reflexor Jump down to the lower level by the pool. MetalHead alligators (at least 10) jump out from the water. Shoot away. DON'T LET UP! You may see more MetalHeads diving into the pool from nearby drain pipes. Watch for them to jump out to the platform when you least expect it. I found the ricochet bullets from the Beam Reflexor worked better than the Gyro Burster? |
Once the area is finally quiet, jump into the water. Jak has a swimming lesson. The fence to the next room is impossible to cross unless you go underwater. Be mindful, more Metalhead alligators are waiting for you. Swim under the fence and quickly jump out to the platform. Load the Beam Reflexor again and peg everything from point blank range. Look for the sensor pad in the corner and Power Slam the pad into the platform. A gate in the next fenced-in room, opens. |
In the fenced-in areas, Jak can hover on his jetboard or even walk in the waist-high water or use the moving metal grates. Your choice.. BUT AVOID THE MOVING SENTRIES at all costs! They can't be destroyed and they move around the inside and outside perimieter of the fence. Jak has to get inside the very middle and Power Slam the floor sensor pad to release the door in the corner. Once done, quickly hover or walk out to the ledge by the door then jump out to the tunnel. |
Let the next door mechanism open and walk out to the next pipe junction chamber. This time MetalHead Lurkers come out to attack. (we're definitely in their territory now!) Peg them in mid-air then make your way around the catwalk to the far door. Take the elevator up to the next set of access doors... The doors open... UHOH... Creepy place! Torn breaks-in and congratulates you on making it to the MetalHead stronghold in the city. He urges Jak to continue on and destroy the Dark Eco Tanks feeding them power. |
