After reaching to top of the monk temple walls, Jak & Daxter are out on a terrace overlooking the Wasteland. Before using the hang-glider, load the Blaster Gun. |
Use the left analog stick only, to go up + down + left + right. Steer the hang-glider through the Light Eco energy rings. Every time Jak passes through an energy ring, the energy meter at the bottom will re-charge a little. You can only afford to miss one energy ring at the most. Along the way, there are vertical thermal updraft clouds, that look like curtains of mist. Fly through the cloud and the hang-glider lifts and recharges. TRY NOT TO OVERSTEER gliding through a ring. |
There are also smaller red energy rings. Daxter needs to shoot these rings to open them up into larger Light Eco energy rings, that Jak can fly through. Fly your way around the Wasteland following the chain of rings. It's a great ride! Down below you'll recognize parts of the Wasteland that you've been driving around in past missions. As we go deeper into the flying challenge, the rings will start to get farther apart and they'll start to drift back and forth, in the air currents. |
Towards the end of the flight, Jak will have to make steep turns and long ascents. The volcano will come into view. Line-up the glider with the last Light Eco ring in the rock face of the volcano. Fly through. [Movie sequence begins]. Jak & Daxter fly down the tunnel and crash the hang-glider into the cave. Jak is able to swing and jump to the ground. Daxter is left hanging from a rafter beam near the top of the cave. He does make it down. |
