Jak II

Explore Precursor Eco Mine

After riding the elevator, Jak, Daxter & Pecker end up deep inside the eco mines of Haven City. Legend has it they were built by Mar and his family to find precious Eco. Pecker thinks it's a spooky place and says he'll meet you back in the city.

Explore Eco Mine 1 The lighting is not the best in this place but there are floodlights in certain areas that will illuminate steps and ladders. There are MetalHeads everywhere, and the sneaky wall lizards here are especially tough. You're going to need more than 1-2 shots with the Beam Reflexor to take them down. Walk down to the first platform with the floodlights and whack the nearby ammo crates. Load the Beam Reflexor and peg anything that moves. Shoot down the drawbridge.

Explore Eco Mine 2 Take down all the nearby MetalHeads and shoot dow the next drawbridge. Walk across and shoot down the flying bat MetalHeads. These ones may shoot at you, so don't let them fly around for long. Shoot down the next drawbridge and walk to the rail area. The door to the right is blocked. Walk down the narrow platforms on the left. Grab the ammo on the way. Jump to the rickety elevator platform, and wait for it to take you down to the lower level. Jump to the drawbridge as it stops.

WATCH-OUT: All the wooden elevator platforms inside the eco mine are really trapdoors on a timer. Should you stand around on a wooden platform for longer than 2-3 seconds after it stops, the elevator will give way and you fall to your death.

Explore Eco Mine 3 Work your way down the narrow passageways, being mindful of MetalHeads that are eager to ambush you. Take the next elevator pad up to the next mine section. Work along the cliffs, taking down Metalheads as you go. We will be following the rail network for a little while. Cross the tracks and up to through the forcefield gate. Walk out to the last section. Take care of the MetalHeads and whack nearby crates for health and ammo. Take the circular elevator pad deep into the mines.

Explore Eco Mine 4 Walk through the stone archways to the mining area. Charge up with Light Eco. Jump onto the wooden platform and ride down to the mining areas. Load the Beam Reflexor and peg a few MetalHead frogs while traveling on the way down. The bullet ricochets should help clean out the area. There may be a few flying bats around. In the next open area, there's a running mill half-submerged into the ground. An orange MetalHead hound runs out from the sewer pipe.

Explore Eco Mine 5 Activate Jak's Light Eco Defense Shield. The hounds will bounce off the shield as they try to attack. After the hound recovers (you can't kill them), bounce him inside the running mill. When he recovers he'll start to run inside the mill turning the wheel. This activates a nearby set of wood platforms. Climb the new platforms and take down the enemies roaming around. Go to the next mill area and again activate Jak's Light Eco Defense Shield. Toss a hound into the nearby mill.

Explore Eco Mine 6 Ride the new set of ferris wheel platforms up to the next mill area. This time you have to tease one of the 3 hounds to come up the ramp behind you. Coax him up the ramps then whack Daxter's tail and toss him into the running mill. The turning wheel activates a set of drilling platforms in the large cave up ahead. The drills swing back and forth from left to right. Jump to a moving platform then to the next platform as it swings by. Up top jump out to the stone cave platform. We're safe!

Explore Eco Mine 7 Walk straight ahead to the small cave. [Movie sequence begins] Jak discovers a new piece of armor. These are Mar's leg armor shin pads. Another piece to the puzzle. Once done, clean-out the room for Orbs and Skull Gems. Walk into the giant storage room. To the right is a mine train filled with explosives sitting on a set of rail tracks. Walk into the floodlight beacon. Whack the switch (spin move). [Movie sequence begins].

A giant mechanical crane picks-up the mining car and moves it to a set of tracks. We're on a giant heavy-duty elevator pad. The elevator pad goes up, stops, and connects with the rails up top. THE TRAIN STARTS TO MOVE!!
