[Movie sequence begins] Damas & his trusty sidekick parrot, Pecker, greet Jak back inside the garage compound after fisnihing the desert race against Kleiver. Damas congratulates Jak on his driving skills. He tells Jak about ancient artifacts that are uncovered in the desert after sand storms. He needs Jak to go out and recover as many as he can, before the storms return. Damas also warns that if he stays out in a storm too long and can't return, it will rip his flesh off? |

Hop in the Sand Puppy. Unfortunately, we don't get any guns yet? This artifact race is a point-to-point scavenger hunt on a timer. Look in the proximity radar for the large flashing red dot. Once you orientate the dune buggy in that direction, you should see the white flood light pointing into the sky. Track down that point on the ground, racing there as fast as you can. The time is at the top of screen and counts down the seconds you have left to get to that checkpoint. |

This race will take you to many places in the desert. Jak will have to jump over broken bridge sections, traverse rivers, navigate through and around rock fields, and climb sand dunes. While all this is going on, Marauders will be on your tail, trying to chase you down, firing guns at you. They'll disappear then come at you from another angle. Try to focus on the artifacts and avoid the Marauder vehicles as best you can. They won't inflict much damage if you keep accelerating. |

As the race winds on, the weather starts to get a little worse. The sand starts to pick-up and the visibility starts to get bad. You can still see where you're going and can still see the light beacons, but it's definitely starting to get nasty. Daxter will encourage you to keep looking, and tells you when you have collected the last artfiact. After that, it's a race against time to get back to the garage compound. Watch-out for the Marauder ambush right near the garage. |

[Movie sequence begins] Damas is relieved to see you still alive. Of course, he's concerned about the artifacts. He says that the pieces of armor Jak has found is rare armor once worn by Mar during his battles on this planet. Damas says to keep it. The armor will come in handy.. Time to go back into the village. Go through the doors. Find a Leaper Lizard and ride into town. Look for the "monk" icon on the proximity radar. |
