Jak & Daxter

There are 8 powercells to get in this level. They can be found:

Cleaning out the infestation of hopping rabbit lurkers in the cave
Activating the yellow eco energy vent system inside the mountain
Taking out the viking troop lurkers on the 3 wooden ram carts
Deactivating all the barrel switches protected by force fields
Activating the winch to open the fort gate using Flut Flut
Navigating the catwalks around the fort perimeter
Opening the frozen crate in the narrow cave
Finding and freeing all 7 scout flies

To get to Snowy Mountain, Jak has to ride the gondola car up the cliffs from Volcanic Crater. The gondola will automatically stop at the level entrance. First thing you'll notice is it's winter!! The snow is very deep and in most places up to Jak's waist. There are lurkers hiding everywhere under the snow. Expect an ambush.

Snowy Mountain 1 First assignment is to deactivate the barrel switches. There are many of them scattered all over the level and every one has to be turned off. Hover jump over the force field then slam jump on top of the switch. The barrel will slowly lower and the force field will disappear. Take out as many snow lurkers as you can, but don't stick around. More and more will come after you. Grab the spirit balls that are left behind, even if they are hidden in the snow. Jump over the canyon.

Snowy Mountain 2 Watch out for the metal spike snowball lurker. This guy is lethal and fast. Once he transforms to the spike ball, make sure you stay out of his way. Tackle him while he's in dormant mode. Ahead is snow boulder alley. Dodge the boulders as they come rolling down. Deactivate the 2 barrel switches along the way and grab all the orbs. At the top of the alley, there's a red eco energy vent up on the right. Red eco is super strength energy and can be used to defeat unusually difficult lurkers. Power up!!

Snowy Mountain 3 Near the top of boulder alley there's an open area on the left. Ahead is a wooden ram cart in front of a large ice wall. Once you come near the cart, a viking troop lurker will jump off the cart and chase Jak. Be careful!! He fires a red heat seeker fireball from his hand. You can only take him down in red eco powerup mode. Hit him once to drop his shield, and then again to finish him off. Take out the other lurkers, and clean out the area. Run back down boulder alley and go left.

Snowy Mountain 4 Take out the soldier lurkers and work your way down the gorge. Jump down to the lower platform and over to the rope bridge. Down below is a yellow eco energy vent that we will use later. Be careful when crossing the bridge. It's covered with ice. Jak has to skate across which is a little trickey. On the other side by the large fortress, Jak runs into a new hopping rabbit lurker. He's a little menace and tough to get. Skate down the frozen river to the left.

Snowy Mountain 5 Take out the soldier lurkers down towards the barrel switches. Hover jump from the snow bank to decativate the force fields and then skate cross the icy bridge to the ice rink island. Be very very careful how fast you move on this little island. One wrong move and you'll slide off and plunge to your death. Deactivate 2 more barrel switches and then skate across another ice bridge to a snow cave entrance. Take out the 3 jumping rabbit lurkers and decativate another barrel switch.

Snowy Mountain 6 As you walk down into the cave, there's a deep gorge with a moving hover pad. Watch the hover pad cycle from one side to the other and back again. Jump to the hover pad then jump off at the other side. Up ahead is a red eco energy vent. If you look down the cave a little further, you'll see an infestation of rabbit lurkers blocking the path. There's hundreds of them. To the left you'll see a powercell way up on a high balcony platform. Time to make rabbit stew!!

Snowy Mountain 7 Power up with red eco energy and take down all the rabbits. Be sure to stand at a distance and spin whack the dark eco boxes scattered along the way. Stand too close, and Jak will take some damage from the explosion. Go to the right, up the cliff, and then back around to the left. You may have to run back to the red eco energy vent several times to completely clean out the rabbits before you can jump to the balcony and grab the powercell. Walk up the cave tunnel. Listen and you can hear rumbling snow boulders overhead.

Snowy Mountain 8 Jump down from the high balcony ledge to the platform by the icy bridge. Jump down again to the deep snow by the eco energy vent. Snow lurkers start popping out from everywhere. Don't hang around. Run though the red eco energy vent and jump down the pedestal platforms along the cliff, to the far alcove under the frozen river. Take out another viking troop lurker working on the ram cart. Work your way back up to the icy bridge and this time go right and skate the frozen river.

Snowy Mountain 9 Lots of snow lurkers are waiting. Skate to the right and take down all the enemies. By the cliff, there's a small stand of snow-covered trees. Behind the trees is a secret passageway leading to a huge icy cavern inside the mountain. First, take out the nasty spike snowball lurker and deactivate another barrel switch on the pond to the left. Watch out for the waterfall on the far side. Note the stairs up the side of the cliff. We'll be going there soon. Now walk behind the trees.

Snowy Mountain 10 Welcome to your worst nightmare! All the ledges are covered with ice, and the wooden hydraulic pistons block your way unless you dodge them quickly. The screen camera will go passive. Jump to the ledges, avoid all the pistons and use the hover pads to skate your way around to the far side of the cavern. If you fall, or miss a hover pad, you'll start all over by the cave entrance. Jump to the last ledge and enter the large power chamber under the mountain.

Snowy Mountain 11 Walk up the ramp and grab the powercell. Taking the powercell closes the globe activating the yellow eco energy vent system throughout the Red Sage's World. A movie sequence shows a new vent cover being opened. Not only in Snowy Mountain, but also that yellow eco energy vent back in Spider Caves. Use the slide on the left to return to the cave entrance. Release the nearby scout fly. Go right and up the stairs by the waterfall. Whack the lurkers along the way.

Snowy Mountain 12 Some steps are farther away than they look. Spin hover jump then grab the far ledge. There's another scout fly on the stairs as you turn the corner. Up top is the last wooden ram cart and another friendly viking troop lurker. Run by him as fast as you can and find the red eco energy vent by the frozen pond. Power up, go back and take him down and any other nearby enemy. Grab the powercell that pops out from the ram cart. Return to the frozen pond. If you look down thru the ice, you'll see the yellow eco power chamber.

Snowy Mountain 14 Deactivate the last 4 barrel switches and grab the powercell that pops out onto the pond. You may have to adjust where Jak jumps from to allow for skating slide. Don't bother with what's up ahead just yet. If you want, you can grab the scout fly on the top platform. There is still unfinished business where the ram cart was. Cross the icy bridge to another mountain section. Down below on a transwarp vent pad is our feathered friend Flut Flut. Hop on and take a deep breath!

Snowy Mountain 15 While on Flut Flut, activate the hover pad timer. Now jump and fly to each hover pad over the canyon to the next ledge. Watch your time. The stopwatch will quicken as it winds down. Make sure you are finished a section before the timer stops. The hover pads will disappear. Each section gets harder and starts to look impossible. Be patient. Watch the movement of the pads closely. At the end, get off Flut Flut. Grab the powercell that activates the winch to open the fortress gate. Jump on the nearby hover pad.

Snowy Mountain 16 Jak is now at the fortress entrance. Just inside are 3 sealed lightning bolt vents and a tall wooden lookout tower with ramp stairs. At the back is the fort lodge. Climb up the ramps around the lookout tower. At the very top, one section of ramp is illuminated. Jump up to the top lookout platform. Grab the scout fly. Power up with the blue eco lightning ball and jump off the tower. Jak will sustain damage but if you are in the right position when you land, all 3 lightning vents will open.

Snowy Mountain 17 Collect all the orbs and then climb the lookout tower again. This time at the top, continue on to the fort wall. Take out the soldier lurker and go down to the catwalk attached to the wall. Jump over the gaps, take out the pesky rabbit lurkers and work your way around the back of the fortress to the main lodge in the middle. Be careful of the icy catwalk sections. If you fall, snow lurkers are waiting to ambush Jak in the courtyard. Once you reach the lodge, jump on the button in front.

NOTE: This button activates a wooden pole that cycles up and down like an elevator. Should you fall off the catwalk on your way to the next powercell, you can come back to the wooden pole by the lodge to bring you to the upper level.

Snowy Mountain 18 Climb to the upper platform and from there climb to the roof of the lodge. Grab scout fly #4. Jump down the lower catwalk and this time work around the fortress wall to the left. You can see the powrcell by the front entrance. Use the poles and swing to the ledges. Time your jump to the rotating platforms in the corners. Take out the lurker on the icy catwalk section then up to the powercell. This finishes everything here. Make sure you have all the orbs before leaving.

Leave the fort and go right. Beside the icy bridge, drop down to the deep snow below. Grab the 5th scout fly and orbs to the right. Take out all the snow lurkers that come to ambush you in the snow. Climb up by the red eco vent and from there jump across the platforms to the gorge. Walk up the gorge to the open cave on the left. We are not far from the entrance (to the right) where Jak rode the gondala.

Snowy Mountain 19 This it is! The last cave to explore! High on a distant platform is that newly opened yellow eco energy vent. Jump to the small pedestal island then jump and grab the edge of the platform on the left. Climb up and take out the rabbit lurker. Power up with yellow eco. Jump and fire in mid-air at the frozen crate on the left and all the pesky lurkers. A powercell will pop out. Another scout fly is nearby on the right. Grab everything and powerup again with yellow eco.

Snowy Mountain 20 Jump over the narrow walkways and jump to the far pedestal island. Jump and fire in mid-air to open the metal crates in the snow. Now jump to the far ledge. Grab all the orbs hidden in the snow while trying to fight off all the snow lurkers. You should now have all 200 orbs for this level. Work back through the cave all the way to the entrance by the gondola. Jump down just before reaching the gondola and grab the last scout fly and the last powercell. Jak's finally done.

Go back into the gondola, and ride it down to Volcanic Crater. Find your way to the mine rail cars and go back into Spider Caves and clean out the remaining orbs stuck in the metal crates down in the baby spider tunnel by the giant robot.
