Jak & Daxter





Access to Sentinel beach is from Sandover Village. Once you pass the mayor's house, on the left, there's a small bridge leading down to a dark secluded beach area. Follow the blue eco powerups and you will arrive at the main beach area. Watch out for moving snails. Once they raise their shell, you can punch or spin-kick them.

There are 8 powercells to get in this level. They can be found:

Unblocking the eco vents under the 5 eco harvester balloons
Finding and freeing all 7 scout flies
Pushing the Flut Flut egg off the cliff for the old lady
Racing and beating the pelican to the powercell from the island
Chasing the seagulls off the 3 sentinel structures
Launching up to the cannon tower using the blue eco powerup pads
After exploring the beach
Climbing the steps to the top of the middle sentinel

Sentinel Beach 1 The first surprise you encounter are the sand snakes. As you walk near a depression on the beach, a sand snake will stir and raise its head breaking the surface. Punch or spin-kick them before they lunge at you. There are several along the beach so be careful. There is a scout fly nearby. As you walk along the beach, someone fires lit bags of TNT from a cannon, from one of the islands. Avoid them and take the powercell on the right, past the steps near the cliff.

Sentinel Beach 2 Before venturing to the upper sections, go back to the beach and swim into the lagoon. Under the water are several pockets of orbs. Dive down under the water and collect all off them. Make sure you swim through the entire area. There are more orbs hidden behind the waterfall on the right. Do not swim out past the towering cannon island. The man-eating fish is waiting out there. Stay in the areas where you can see the sand at the bottom while swimming. Swim to the small island.

Sentinel Beach 3 Jump out and climb the steps to the top. A pelican is sitting on a large nest. Once you disturb him, he will abruptly cough up a powercell and it catipults to the upper ledge on the far shore. Quickly jump off the island, swim to shore, climb the steps, and sprint to the powercell before the pelican flies to it and gulps it. Go back to the lower beach and explore the other half of the level. Don't forget the grotto area shown here. Watch out for more snails, sand snakes and now a new enemy.. walking fish soldiers.

Sentinel Beach 4 There is another scout fly just outside the grotto. As you walk up to the 3 sentinels, you'll notice a flock of seagulls on the steps. Chase them off all 3 sentinels and another powercell will drop from the erupting mountain. At the top of the steps of one sentinel is another powercell. Behind the base of the broken sentinel ruins there is another scout fly. Explore the area, grab all the orbs and bust open the treasure chests. The little golden cells that appear are health points.

Sentinel Beach 5 Unfortunately, one powercell, a scout fly and some orbs are not accessible yet. We need to activate a blue eco powerup vent (currently sealed) on one of the little islands, to gain access to them. For now, climb onto the windmill wheel and go to the upper ledge. Another scout fly is on a high ledge nearby. Jak has to jump, spin and grab that ledge because it's higher than normal. The next powercell is removing all the rocks covering the vents to the eco harvesters.

NOTE: The eco energy vents released here are green eco energy. This energy is for restoring Jak back to full health and is very valuable if you have been wounded from fights with enemies or damaged from long falls.

Sentinel Beach 6 To the right is a long path up the face of the cliff. Along the way, bash open the treasure chests and use all 3 of the blue eco lightning balls to sprint up the path to the very end. A lightning vent cover at the top will release more orbs. To get another powercell, push the Flut Flut egg off the cliff (punch or spin). The egg will fall below and you can claim it from the old lady down below. Of course the hatchling falls in love with Daxter?? This bird will come in handy!!

Sentinel Beach 7 Explore the whole upper area. Watch out for 5 barking guard dogs. Another scout fly is hovering on a small platform by a short bridge. Move fast because the tower cannon is in range with the TNT bags. There is really nothing more we can do for now, so go to the last windmill, use the wheel to return to the lower beach and then back to Sandover Village. You have enough orbs to pay the mayor or uncle for a powercell.

After completing the Forbidden Jungle level and successfully activating the blue eco vent switches inside the temple, a new blue eco energy vent will be open on the far side of the lagoon by the sentinels.

Sentinel Beach 8 The first thing to do after returning to this level, is to find the new blue eco vent. Power up in the vent, and swim over to the island where the pelican nest was. A lightning vent grate has opened with more orbs. Return to the vent and power up again. This time jump on the lightning launch pad. While high in the air, position Jak to land on the next pedestal island. Power launch again and this time land on the island with a 2nd blue eco vent. Powerup and launch again. Land on the top of the cannon tower.

Sentinel Beach 9 Take care of the 2 soldiers and collect the last powercell. You can play with the cannon and practice aiming and firing the cannon to see what it does, but there are no new orbs or prizes to be had. Jump down and return to the first power vent by the shoreline and using the launch pad, this time jump in the other direction and land on the pedestal island on land. Collect the last scout fly and all the orbs on the ledge below.
