Jak & Daxter





The forbidden jungle is found just past the grotto near the oracle. Climb the steps on the cliff to the left. Up top is a suspension foot bridge to cross. Be careful to jump over the missing wooden planks... It's a long fall. This is a big multi-ledge level.

There are 8 powercells to get in this level. They can be found:

Connecting the eco energy beam mirrors to the mayor's windmill
Reaching the very top of the temple
Finding and activating the blue eco vent switch inside the temple
Finding and freeing all 7 scout flies
Defeating the dark eco plant deep inside the temple
Catching 200 pounds of fish using the net by the lower river
Finding and swimming out the canyon grotto to the island
Opening the hidden locked temple door by the eco beam generator

Forbidden Jungle 1 On the far side of the suspension bridge are a host of new enemies. First is the dangling tree snake. He only drops down when you approach. Walk right up to him and then jump and spin-kick at his head. Along the path is a guard dog-fish that is also quick work with a spin-kick or punch. The swinging spike log is another matter. You can't kill this thing and it likes to bite. Dodge the log when it is swinging away. Climb and jump the pedstals to get the first scout fly behind a tree.

Forbidden Jungle 2 Make sure you collect all the orbs. If you happen to fall into the stream, watch out for the pirranha. They're slow enough to punch out but they are sneaky and hide behind things. On the other side of the stream lie the temple grounds. Work your way to the back right beating another snake and 2 guard dogs. This big machine is an eco energy generator. Climb the pistons on the end to the platform. Jump across the swivel platforms and kick out the post with the mirror. The beam will reposition to a new mirror pole.

Forbidden Jungle 3 As Daxter suggests, go down to the base of the pole. At the base of each new mirror pole is a periscope. When you USE the pole periscope, you can sight the next mirror pole and reposition the mirror to connect the beam there. It will flash blue-white when it connects. Connect all the mirrors back to the mayor's windmill in Sandover Village and collect the powercell. Return to Forbidden Village, cross the first bridge, turn left and cross the second bridge. Jump the pedestals to the top, to collect the orbs in mid-air.

Forbidden Jungle 4 Before going across the 3rd bridge, to the left is a trampoline spring. Jump on the spring up to the next level. Watch out for the spike log and the serpent tree trunks and climb the pedestals for a scout fly. The suspension bridges get longer and harder to cross as you go deeper into the level. Go across to the next open area past the 2 spike logs down to the next open area. There is an open blue eco energy vent in the corner. Take out your enemies and power up with blue eco energy.

Forbidden Jungle 5 There are 2 lightning discs at the cliff edge, demarking a powerup mechanism. The bridge will assemble from thin air, and you can jump to the temple entrance. Watch your eco meter and climb the stairs quickly to the temple portal. It will open. Inside open the treasure chests to reveal some eco lightning balls. Use the blue eco power to activate the hover pads. The hover pad on the right takes you to a balcony. Go outside, climb the temple steps and find another scout fly.

Forbidden Jungle 6 Jump back down to the first level and use the hover pad to go to the left. Break open more treasure chests and powerup again with more blue eco. Jump on the first hover pad then jump across to the 2nd hover pad as it comes down to meet the 1st hover pad. Take the 2nd pad up to the upper baclonies. Note the large blue eco vent. Power up again and use the lightning launch pad in the corner. Just press jump and watch out!! Jump to the high balcony and save game here.

Forbidden Jungle 7 Break open the chests, collect the blue eco power up, jump the trampoline and climb to the top ledge. Activate the hover pads and watch. These next moves are a little trickey and if you fall, it's all the way to the bottom and you will die. Jump to the first hover pad and follow it around the tower. The 2nd hover pad will approach. Just before they touch, jump to the 2nd hover pad. Hover up to the 3rd pad and then to the very top of the tower. Collect the powercell & admire the view!! Jump on the elevator button and go down.

Forbidden Jungle 8 From this main chamber, there are 2 doors needing blue eco energy to open, and a tunnel. Climb up, go down the tunnel, and jump over the chasms using the moving hover pads. At the end of the tunnel you can see another open chamber and a powercell up top. Walk up either ramp and jump to the sphere to collect the powercell. This activates a blue eco vent. Run through the vent, collect a scout fly and open the portal on the right. You are back at the start. Another large blue eco vent is now active.

NOTE: There are special blue eco launchpads in both tunnels. Power up and jump on the launchpads. There are lots of orbs way up inside the 2 vent shafts.

Forbidden Jungle 9 Using the new vent, open the last portal. Note that the hover pads now flip over. Time your jump when the hover pad is flat. Go down the tunnel to the end. There is a dark eco plant waiting in the chamber. To defeat him, kill the spike beetles that run after you. Wait for the spikes to retract and jump on them. You cannot kill them with their spikes out. The eco plant will go to sleep and you can climb the leaves and punch him. Do this 3 times for a powercell.

Forbidden Jungle 10 Another blue eco power vent opens and you can use it to activate another lightning launch pad. Jump all the way out of the temple back outside. From here, drop down to the lower level below the bridge. On the dock is a fisherman from Sandover Village. Play the fishing game, collect 200 pounds of fish and collect another powercell. Take note that he now has given you permission to use the powerboat to go to Misty Island. Walk down the valley find a scout fly.

Forbidden Jungle 11 Along the valley floor, there are 4 lightning ball blue eco powerups. Use them all to activate a nearby floor grate and to use the launch pad in the corner for another scout fly and a temple door portal up top with another powercell. There is a grotto to the left and another powercell. Collect all the orbs under water. Scour all the areas for orbs (check game options). Go to the oracle in Sandover Village. Give him 120 orbs and collect one of his eyes...his first powercell.

Once you have collected the 20th powercell, a movie sequence will start. Kyra asks you to meet her at the top of the cliff by Fire Canyon. You have enough power to use the anti-grav zoomer with its heat-shield to cross the canyon. NOT YET!!! We have unfinished business in Sentinel Beach with a new eco vent now open and then its off to Misty Island to capture the muse for the artist.
