Jak & Daxter





Boggy Swamp starts through the opening between the cliff walls past where Kyra was using the levitator machine. As you enter the level, it immediately starts to rain. Makes you feel cold and wet and yucky. Time to go play in the muck!

There are 8 powercells to get in this level. They can be found:

Finding and releasing the 1st tether on the overhead zeppelin
Finding and releasing the 2nd tether on the overhead zeppelin
Surviving the ambush in the fortress compound area
Finding and releasing the 3rd tether on the overhead zeppelin
Circuit training and finishing the obstacle course riding Flut Flut
Carrying out swamp rat pest control for the hillbilly out on the lake
Finding and releasing the 4th tether on the overhead zeppelin
Finding and freeing all 7 scout flies

Boggy Swamp 1 Jak's best friend in this level is yellow eco energy. Yellow energy is endless point & shoot fireball power. You can use it on metal boxes, boulders, swamp rats and nests, treasure chests and some other obstacles. Most of the yellow eco energy comes from lightning balls hidden inside treasure chests, or from the very rare yellow eco vent. Power up whenever you are near a lightning ball. There's a good reason why it's there!! Try it out on the nearby metal boxes for some orbs.

Boggy Swamp 2 There's lots of new obstacles including these nasty thorned vines. Jump to the horizontal bar and hold down the X button. Jak will turn into a gymnast and pivot around the bar. Let go and quickly tap the X button with the forward direction and Jak will release from the bar going forward and land on his feet. Go to the next open area, power up and take out the swamp rats. Up ahead is a dark eco lagoon. Not a good idea to go swimming. Off to the left is a blue eco vent.

Boggy Swamp 3 Using the yellow eco lightning ball on the wharf, aim and fire at the flying red bats. You may have to jump and fire in mid-air to get them. Using the blue eco energy vent will allow Jak to grab any orbs hanging over the water, without having to swim and taking health damage. In blue eco powerup mode Jak attracts orbs from far way. Use the blue eco energy vent again and the nearby lightning launch pad to go get a scout fly in a hidden cave. Power up again in the cave, and launch back to the main area.

Boggy Swamp 4 Continuing on, Jak runs into the moving log fences. Watch the sections closely. They follow a pattern. When the logs recede into the ground, jump over the section quickly. Up next is the swamp rats nest. As you approach, swamp rats start to scatter out of the nest. They keep on coming!! Use both yellow eco lightning balls and fire away at all the rats AND the nest. 4-5 shots should take out the nest in chunks, which will stop any more rats from coming out.

Around the corner is another series of moving log fences. Off to the left is a cave entrance with more moving log fences. Go straight ahead first. Jump over the fence and head for the yellow eco lightning ball off to the right by the weeds. Fire at any nearby rats and blast the boulder covering the yellow eco vent in the middle. Run to the now-open yellow eco vent and power-up big time. Fire at all the swamp rats that are coming out from both nests. For now ONLY destroy the nest on the left. There are orbs in mid-air suspended high above the swamp rats nest on the right.

Boggy Swamp 5 Quickly jump to the white mushroom on the left, in the dark eco pool, avoiding the infestation of more rats. As you jump on the mushroom it will start to sink. Just before it touches the dark eco, jump and grab onto the second mushroom and from there jump back to the top of the swamp rats nest. Jump in the air and collect the orbs. Run back to the yellow eco vent and take out the last rats nest and all the remaining rats. Take out the boulder on the far platform. OOO... a powercell !

Boggy Swamp 6 Firing at the boulder released a tether on the zeppelin high above, and the powercell. 3 more tethers to find and release. Go back to the cave on the left and jump through the 2 log fences. Power up using the 2 yellow eco lightning balls and take out the dark eco boxes, the swamp rats AND their nest. The rats nest is covering a blue eco energy vent. Just ahead, there's a blue lightning launchpad leading to another hidden cave for a scout fly and major rat trouble!

Once you survive the mayheim, bounce back to the main area. Up ahead is another thorned vine to cross and then another dark eco pool way ahead. Power up with the blue eco lightning ball and as you jump to the floating platform, the orbs will zap blue and come to you like a magnet. Jump quickly to the far wharf. The camera will go passive as you work around the wharf. Keep your direction facing forward even though you're travelling to the right. Become a gymnast for awhile.

Boggy Swamp 7 At the end of the wharf, the camera returns to active and off in the distance is the 2nd boulder holding down a tether for the zeppelin. Use the nearby yellow eco lightning balls and fire away at the boulder and the little enemies lurking down below. Go get the powercell. Grab any stray orbs and the scout fly then go through the next log fence section. Hmmmm. Do we go left or right? Stay here for now, power up with the yellow eco energy vent and take out all the flying red bats on the left. Go and collect the orbs.

Boggy Swamp 8 Power-up again through the yellow energy vent and this time blast all the boxes in the dark eco pool on the right. Turn around and blast all the boxes towards the cave. Pick up all the orbs, then jump to the small dark island in the middle of the dark eco pool. When you power-up with the blue eco lightning ball all the orbs in the water from the metal boxes, will come to you. Continue on to the end. Grab the scout fly. The other path is a return path and we just cleaned it out.

Boggy Swamp 9 Return to the yellow eco vent a 3rd time and this time power-up and run down towards the cave. On a far wooden platform, there are 4 dark eco boxes blocking the access through the archway. Jump & fire mid-air at the boxes. The explosion will rip through all of them at once. This opens the way to the blue eco lightning ball that was behind them. Power up with the blue lightning ball and jump to the lightning launch pad near the wall of the cave. Get ready for an ambush!!

Once you land in the fortress compound from the launchpad, all the swamp rats & lurker soldiers drop down from the overhead catwalks. Your only defence is speed. Run to the nearest yellow eco lightning ball, power-up and fire away. Keep turning and firing. Stay near the lightning ball as it recharges. You can instantly power-up again once your meter runs out. Ride out the lurker assault and get the powercell. You can see another tether nearby. Launch back to the cave when you're done.

Boggy Swamp 11 Jump over the platform and power-up again using the blue eco lightning ball. Jump on the launch pad dead ahead. You'll get all the orbs suspended in mid-air and you'll be launched to another hidden fortress compound where you will find the 3rd zeppelin tether and a swamp rats nest in a really confined working space. Think fast and find yellow eco energy. Blast away and get the nest, jump back, and in mid-air take out the boulder on the platform for the powercell.

Boggy Swamp 12 Work your way down the path. Make note of the scout fly and orbs way up on the high platform. Around the corner are a series of stair platforms and off in the distance is another yellow eco vent. Your choice. You can go to the vent and take care of all the metal boxes or come back later. Up ahead is our feathered friend Flut Flut sitting on an transwarp vent. This is the bird we hatched in Sentinel Beach for the old lady. Ok. Time for some flying lessons and circuit training!! There is another powercell out over the lake.

Boggy Swamp 14 Take Flut Flut up the steps and then start the circuit going to the left. Some platforms require a fly jump. Some of the other platforms that are farther apart, require a flutter fly jump. Work your way around the perimeter. Grab the scout fly. If you fall, you have to start all over. For some reason, Flut flut doesn't take any damage landing in the dark eco pool?? Finish the course and grab the powercell. Off to the right take Flut Flut for a scout fly and orbs. Flut Flut's done!

Boggy Swamp 15 If you haven't exploded all the metal boxes, do so now. Use the yellow eco vent power-up and blast away. Hop to the small island in the dark eco pool and blast away at 2 bigger swamp rats nests & more metal boxes. Jump to the small island, power-up with the 2 blue eco lightning balls and grab all the orbs. Go past the next log fence section, past the dark eco boxes, past the beach and then turn right to come out on the other side of the lake at the shack by the far end.

Boggy Swamp 16 Walk up to the Hillbilly by the shack. He talks about his pet gator and how the swamp rats keep stealing his pet's snacks so he won't come back home. Your goal... keep the swamp rats from eating ANY of the snack dishes out on the lake. Not an easy task. They keep coming and coming. Fire away and be on the outlook. They come from all directions. Keep blasting away until the lake turns quiet. About 50 rats later, the hillbilly will cough up a powercell for your pest control.

Boggy Swamp 17 From here, go to the left, jump over the next platform into the cave. Stay to the right side of the cave and quickly move past the rats nest. Ahead are 4 yellow eco lightning balls. Power-up and make quick work of the rats and their nest and in the next area past the log fence. Get the last scout fly. To the right is another dark eco pond. Work your way down the wharf on the left. Free the orbs from the metal boxes and use the blue eco lightning ball to grab them. Up ahead you'll see the last tether on a high platform.

Boggy Swamp 18 There is a yellow eco vent nearby. Power-up, run down all the critters and then take out the last boulder. To get to the high platform jump to 1st mushroom. As it sinks, jump to 2nd mushroom. Quickly jump and grab to the taller 3rd mushroom before it starts to sink. From the 3rd mushroom, jump to the platfrom and grab the last powercell. To leave the platform jump in mid-air, scoop all the orbs and land on the 4th mushroom. Use the mushrooms like stairs to get back. Almost done!

Follow the wharf into the small cave. Take care of business inside the cave, then work your way up the cave tunnel to the top, ending on a balcony ledge. You'll recognize that you're at the start of the level by the entrance. If everything has gone well, you should have 8 powercells and 200 orbs and can return to Rock Village.
