Made by Mercedes Benz, the SLK convertible was introduced in 1997 for the weekend tour driver. SLK stands for Sports Light Kompact. Based on the popular C-class frame, the SLK 230 has ventilated 4-wheel disc brakes, and DOHC supercharge 4-cylinder (kompressor designation). The "Vario roof" hardtop collpases hydraulically into the trunk using a reverse trunk lid.
