Renault Clio In 1998, Renault introduced the Clio. With its success, the Clio trophy was established along with a lighter faster racing model. The Clio Sport was reconfigured to a mid-engine, rear-wheel drivetrain. The FX7 - V6 turbo engine taken from the Renault Laguna, was mounted in the rear seat area. The original body was widened to fit 18" wheels.
