In 1999, Honda introduced the Type R, built on the same frame platform of the Integra GS-R. The wheelbase of the Civic is actually longer than the Integra, but the sport suspension components are the same. The 1.6 litre engine has been assisted with a higher band sport 5-speed transmission making it fun and responsive to drive.
